The Baroness’ Lecture at the National Arts Club: Latex in Fashion

I was invited by the Fashion Committee of The National Arts Club to speak on Latex in Fashion on Feb 7 at their NYC clubhouse.

The enthusiastic, standing-room-only crowd gave me a warm welcome, and seemed interested in more than the fashion side of latex!

While the event was live-streamed on Facebook, this video is a bit easier to watch. Coming soon, the question-and-answer segment that followed my presentation.

On behalf of the fashion committee, I would still like to thank you again for bringing not only such an interesting and unique program to the club, but also your great sense of humor and grace. I can assure you it was one of the most popular programs we have ever had, and I heard many people still talking about it in the club during this week – that does not happen often!  We can surely talk about future collaborations.

I made these limited edition latex cat ears to support the Mayor’s Alliance. The left ear is clipped to signify that the cat has been spade or neutered. The color was chosen in honor of Hamlet, the famous resident cat at the  Algonquin Hotel, which hosts annual benefits for the Alliance.

The Baroness Documentary Ties for First Place at Cinekink Film Festival!

The short documentary film about me (The Baroness) that Isabel Faintych created has taken first place again (it also took first at the Fetisch Film Festival in Kiel, Germany, and will no doubt win still more awards), at New York’s Cinekink Film Festival, tying with Zoe D’Amaro’s short “What’s your orgasm policy?”

This was one of my favorite interviews, in which I spoke of more than the usual fetish and BD/SM issues, touching also on the business of making a living in the fetish world. Lisa, the Cinekink Co-ordinator, said this one inspired her to create to the grouping of films that dealt with the business side of alternative lifestyles.

After the screening there was a short question-and-answer session, where I learned more about the other entries. Congratulations to all of them, to Isabel, to Lisa for a great film festival, and to everyone who supported the event!

Crazy Cat Ladies Doing Good

A fabulous time catting around with Midori in leopard print corsets and accessories at #thefetishfairfleamarket!

10% of all feline-related purchases (catwoman tops, kitten tops, Sex Kitten Bikinis, anything in leopard print, etc) goes to the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals for the care of tabby cats specifically – my favourites!

In the words of Midori: “Crazy cat ladies doing good in the world!”

The Maw on display at WOW Museum in Nelson, New Zealand

I am delighted to announce that my bizarre rubber creation “The Maw”, which won 2nd place in the “open” category at the International World of Wearable Art competition last September, is now on display at the WOW Museum in Nelson, NZ. It is strange to see it from the outside (I’m usually inside), and the compact configuration in which they present it. But if you should find yourself in the south island of New Zealand, do look it up.

Buzzfeed: “10 Sex Kinks that Prove There’s No One Way to Do It”

An Interview with Katharine Gates, Author of  “Deviant Desires: A Tour of the Erotic Edge”

The New Book Includes The Baroness and Balloons

Katharine Gates

A highly-illustrated (including a balloon party photo from my Fetish Retinue) article based on an interview with author Katharine Gates about some of the kinks discussed in her new book, Deviant Desires: A Tour of the Erotic Edge, available now.

An excerpt:

“Balloons combine the touchy-feely and smelly power of latex with the excitement of growth and the fear of explosions. Balloon fans may enjoy watching their partners orally inflate them, or they may want to pop the balloons in a variety of ways using other core kinks such as cigarettes or feet. Partner play can involve bouncing on large balloons.”
