My friend Purely Patricia has gathered together a talented band of creative New Yorkers (myself included) and curated and styled for auction seven mannequins to showcase both us and our works. Join me and other creative “People with Purpose”, sip champagne, and shop!
I want a huge swath of latex lovers to create a sensation and help raise money for Housing Works, while drinking champagne and shopping! You can place your final bids (online bidding opens August 17th here) on this exquisite collection of eclectic designer goods while rubbing elbows with the artists.
“Housing Works is a healing community of people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Our mission is to end the dual crises of homelessness and AIDS through relentless advocacy, the provision of lifesaving services, and entrepreneurial businesses that sustain our efforts.”
More information about this event and getting involved, here.
Anne Hathaway will appear next year wearing our heavy rubber black corset and skirt in “Ocean’s Eight”, an all-woman sequel/spinoff-of the popular heist trilogy, to be released next June. In this version, Danny Ocean’s sister Debbie attempts to pull off an impossible heist at New York City’s star-studded annual Met Gala.
My latex was featured in a spread of the book, and in prints that were on auction at the Williamsburg event.
I had a great chat with perJennifer for her perNYC podcast recently, where we discussed how my creation (The Baroness Latex business) is a part of New York City. Available now through iTunes here or for Android devices here. Just look for “The Baroness” on April 10.
Three authors read their own work to a local audience in an East Village garden on Sept 11. The Baroness read “The Little Red Dress”: her own story of the latex dress that changed her life.
If you watch local TV in the New York City area, you might see our 15 second commercial. Or you can just watch it on YouTube…
Mistakenly referred to as a “lingerie shop”, my boutique is otherwise nicely represented in this article in The Gothamist featuring nine unique and specialized NYC shops. Worth a look.
Our own video coming soon. Meanwhile look for us at about 1:20 into this one:
